HARTSTOWN.
    Hartstown was incorporated as a borough in 1851, and is situated in East Fallowfield township.  It contains three churches, viz.:  United Presbyterian, Rev. H. H. Hervey, pastor; Methodist Episcopal, Rev. R. L. Hick, pastor; and the Zion Church.  It has one graded school; also one hotel, two grocery stores, one drug and hardware store, one general store, two carriage factories, three blacksmith shops, two livery stables, one harness shop, one tin shop, one cabinet shop, one cooper shop, a steam saw and stave mill, and a steam flouring mill.  The State Police Lodge, No. 38, meets here.
