On application of a number of Inhabitants on the waters of French creek &c—stating the large extent of Pitt Township and praying that it may be divided.—It is ordered that a New Township be erected off Pitt Township to consist of Benjamin Stokely's and Alexander McDaniel's [McDowell's] surveying District [i.e., Districts 3 and 7] called "Irvine Township" .... | |

Begining at the mouth of French Creek thence down the Allegheny River by the different windings thereof to where the northeast corner of the County of Butler corners on said River thence west [course omitted in docket; from petition: "along the line dividing the Countys of Butler & Venango to the south west Corner of the County of Venango, Thence north"] along the line dividing the Counties of Venango & Mercer to where the same strikes French Creek thence down said Creek by the different windings thereof to the mouth the place of beginng. |
